American Base Camp
These photographs were taken during our participation at the 2007 Liri Valley Tactical Event.
A 'Tactical' is a simulated battle that is organized by different groups of re-enactors on land that is sufficient for this type of activity. The land owner is usually a re-enactor themselves, or someone who enjoys contributing towards the preservation of history.
This tactical event was modeled after "Operation Diadem" or how it is known by others, as "The Battle of Liri Valley," which was the fourth battle of Monte Cassino, a military operation conducted by the allies during WWII, as part of their campaign to liberate Italy from Nazi and Fascist occupation.
